End-to-End IT Admin for a Fast-Scaling Startup

Job summary

fonio GmbH is seeking an IT Operations professional in Vienna to own our internal IT setup end-to-end. You will manage devices, accounts, access rights and automate onboarding for new hires, role changes, and leavers. This is a hands-on role with scale-up impact.

You’ll work closely with People Ops, Engineering, and our external InfoSec lead to build secure, auditable processes and cloud-based IAM, MDM, and SOC 2 readiness. Fluency in English is required; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in IT administration, workplace IT, or IT operations.
• Hands-on experience with MDM solutions and managing macOS devices.
• Solid knowledge of identity & access management (SSO, SCIM, Google Workspace).
• Automation scripting and/or workflow tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Zapier, n8n).
• Bonus: exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks.
• Structured, pragmatic, low ego. You thrive in intensity.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of joiner/mover/leaver processes and access provisioning.
• Set up, roll out, and manage laptops via MDM.
• Manage SSO, provisioning, and permissions across SaaS stack.
• Prepare fonio for SOC 2 readiness with controls and evidence.
• Provide internal IT support for devices, licenses, and issues.
• Maintain licenses, vendor relationships, and reduce shadow IT.
