Job summary

BOND, based in Vienna, Austria, is hiring a backend engineer to own core services and APIs powering search, matching, and the customer dashboard. You will design and maintain data pipelines end to end, from ingestion through enrichment, ensuring speed and reliability as scale grows.

You will work across the full lifecycle—design, implementation, deployment, and operation—collaborating directly with the founders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building production backend systems.
• Solid database fundamentals: schema design, indexing, query performance.
• Experience operating services in production: monitoring, debugging, incident response.
• A pragmatic approach: simple designs, shipped iteratively, measured honestly.
• Bonus: experience with search or data-heavy pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and build APIs powering search, matching, and the customer dashboard.
• Own data pipelines end to end: ingestion, processing, deduplication, enrichment.
• Keep the platform fast and reliable as data volume and traffic grow.
• Improve observability, testing, and developer experience across the codebase.
• Work directly with the founders on architecture and priorities.
