Job summary

Chevron Corp. seeks a senior leader to head Property Accounting at the Buenos Aires Shared Services Center, guiding a team supporting US Offshore operations and safeguarding asset lifecycle accounting across capital expenditures, additions, transfers, retirements and depreciation.

You will oversee month-, quarter-, and year-end close, ensure compliance with Chevron policies and SOX controls, and drive standardization and automation across Property Accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 8–10 years of accounting/finance experience.
• Leadership or supervisory experience managing teams.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and SOX.
• Experience with SAP/S/4HANA and finance systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Property Accounting professionals supporting US Offshore operations.
• Ensure accurate and timely accounting for capital expenditures, asset additions, transfers, retirements, impairments, and depreciation.
• Coordinate and oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Maintain compliance with Chevron accounting policies, SOX controls, and financial reporting requirements.
• Drive process standardization and continuous improvement across Property Accounting activities.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Controllers, and Finance to resolve complex accounting matters.
• Ensure timely completion of account reconciliations and resolution of outstanding items.
• Support business initiatives, acquisitions, integrations, and organizational changes impacting Property Accounting processes.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and control effectiveness.
• Provide leadership in internal and external audit support activities.
• Develop team members through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
