Job summary

Client Agency is seeking a Technical SEO Lead to oversee a portfolio of higher education marketing accounts. You will diagnose crawl, indexation, and structure issues, write developer-ready specs, and implement fixes while building Claude-based tools and workflows to automate audits and QA.

You will collaborate with the SEO Lead and Executive Director of SEO, owning outcomes across many accounts and championing AI-driven search readiness for GEO/AEO strategies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SEO, with at least 3 focused on technical SEO
• Proven ability to uncover high-impact issues and prioritize fixes
• Strong hands-on experience with GSC, GA4, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs/Semrush
• Deep WordPress knowledge to spec fixes precisely
• Clear written communication for specs and client-facing recommendations

Responsibilities

• Lead technical SEO across client accounts
• Run audits covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects, and broken links
• Prioritize issues by impact and effort; defend decisions
• Write dev-ready specs and follow fixes to verification
• Build Claude-based tools and workflows for audits, reporting, QA
• Monitor GSC and GA4 to catch issues early
• Own technical readiness for AI search (AEO/GEO)
• Design scalable systems for the SEO service
• Document systems and train the team
• Support client success and act as go-to technical resource
