Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to operate and improve a Snowflake-based data platform in a regulated healthcare environment. You will own data platform operations, optimize ingestion, and build robust pipelines with dbt models, while ensuring data quality and observability.

You will collaborate with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, and stakeholders across LatAm, providing L2/L3 support and driving incident resolution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and data-layer design, performance, and production troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL skills and dbt for transformation, testing, documentation, lineage, and controlled deployment.
• Experience with managed ingestion tools like Fivetran or HVR and custom data ingestion pipelines.
• Hands-on with AWS data services (S3) and event/file-based ingestion patterns.
• Experience with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes or similar workflow orchestration tools.
• Proficiency in Python or equivalent for data engineering tasks and tooling.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, pipeline dependencies, schema evolution, and data quality.
• Experience with observability, logging, alerting, and incident-management in production data platforms.
• Ability to lead incident resolution, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal English and ability to work with client stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership for the Data Platform service tower across LatAm hours, including L2/L3 escalation.
• Operate and improve Snowflake production and non-production environments, tuning warehouse config and monitoring consumption.
• Administer data access with least-privilege controls and audit-ready practices.
• Manage data ingestion across Fivetran, HVR, and custom pipelines, including scheduling and schema changes.
• Design, build, and maintain pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION layers with CI/CD.
• Support AWS S3 data-lake operations including lifecycle, access patterns, and integration with Snowflake.
• Coordinate with Cloud/DevOps for Argo Workflows and Kubernetes workloads, including deployment and recovery.
• Define data quality and observability standards including freshness, null checks, and schema drift.
• Expand end-to-end monitoring and lineage using tools like dbt, Splunk, and alerting stacks.
• Lead or support major data incidents with root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
• Support Tableau Cloud operations where data and connectivity impact dashboards.
• Identify standardization and automation opportunities, migrating legacy patterns to modern paths.
• Execute work through ITSM processes and maintain runbooks and knowledge transfer materials.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and ensure effective handoffs across the distributed team.
