Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Senior FinOps Analyst to guide engineering teams on cloud costs and optimization. This role requires overlapping APAC hours with PST and CST, and frequent collaboration with R&D teams to manage spend and forecasts.

You will monitor AI/LLM spend, perform root-cause analyses, and deliver actionable recommendations. Strong communication and Jira/Slack proficiency are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of FinOps experience.
• Strong cloud cost management and optimization expertise.
• Investigate spend anomalies and produce written root-cause analyses.
• Partner with R&D/engineering teams to advise on cloud costs.
• Forecast cloud costs and align central forecasts with team-level projections.
• Familiarity with OpenAI/LLM cost drivers and monitoring.
• Cost modeling and team investment/project tracking.
• Proficient with Jira for documenting investigations and Slack for real-time support.
• Maintain technical documentation/wiki spaces and recurring reports (Showback).
• Strong written and verbal communication for stakeholder engagement.
• Availability to cover APAC business hours with PST and afternoon CST overlap.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for R&D teams seeking cloud cost guidance via Slack and asynchronous channels.
• Engage APAC-based spending teams to review monthly cloud spending and surface optimization opportunities; document notes.
• Monitor cloud and AI/LLM spend for anomalies and provide root-cause analyses and optimization recommendations.
• Participate in monthly forecasting, align forecasts with team plans, and document spend intentions.
• Contribute to showback reporting with AI/LLM cost drivers and cost awareness.
• Audit and update the wiki with FinOps information and best practices.
• Model team cost projections and respond to inquiries via Slack and email.
