Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team in a hybrid role. You will own reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines, building AWS-first infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling to enable data engineers to ship high‑quality data products quickly and safely.

You will work across Glue, Athena, S3, and related services, driving security best practices and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE with data engineering exposure.
• Deep AWS services knowledge: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS.
• CI/CD tooling experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Infra‑as‑Code tooling: Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
• Strong ability to design observability for data/platform services.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data workloads.
• Manage AWS-based infrastructure using IaC and ensure security controls.
• Own observability: metrics, logs, alerts, and incident response.
• Develop self‑service DataOps tooling and reusable components.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Lead incident response for data platform outages and post‑mortems.
