Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. This hybrid role powers data pipelines and analytics, building AWS-first infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling to enable data engineers to ship reliable data products.

You will design and operate data workflows using AWS Glue, Athena, S3, and MWAA, while strengthening security, observability, and developer experience across platforms. Collaboration across teams is essential.

Formación

• 5+ years in DevOps or SRE with hands-on data engineering experience.
• Deep expertise with AWS services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager.
• Proficiency with IaC tools: Terraform and/or AWS CDK for production cloud envs.
• Strong CI/CD experience across GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalents.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes).
• Ability to design observability systems (metrics, logging, tracing, alerts).
• Excellent communication to translate ops concerns for diverse audiences.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs and related data infra.
• Build and manage AWS infrastructure using IaC (Terraform / CDK).
• Own the observability stack with metrics, logs, and alerts for data pipelines.
• Develop DataOps tooling and reusable pipeline templates for data engineers.
• Manage container and compute infra (Docker, ECS/EKS, Lambda) for data services.
• Operate workflow environments (MWAA / Airflow) including upgrades and scaling.
• Maintain AWS Glue ETL jobs and large-scale data ingestion on S3.
• Advance security with secrets, least privilege, and network controls.
• Collaborate with data teams to translate requirements into scalable infra.
• Lead incident response and post-mortem improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers on DevOps and data engineering practices.
