Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team in a hybrid capacity. The role focuses on reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities across AWS.

You will build and maintain cloud infrastructure with Terraform/CDK, implement CI/CD, and ensure secure, scalable data workflows using Glue, Athena, and S3. Collaboration with data teams is essential.

Competenze

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE with data engineering exposure.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services: Glue, Athena, S3 lifecycle and security.
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform and/or AWS CDK) for managing production cloud environments.
• Strong CI/CD experience across GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI or equivalent.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to design observability (metrics/logging/tracing) for data/platform services.

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs and related data infrastructure.
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using IaC (Terraform / CDK).
• Own observability stack: metrics, logs, alerts to ensure SLA and fast incident response.
• Develop DataOps tooling and templates for data engineers to deploy pipelines.
• Manage container infra (Docker, ECS/EKS, Lambda) to support data ingestion services.
• Operate workflow orchestration environments (MWAA/Airflow, Step Functions).
• Build and maintain AWS Glue ETL jobs for large-scale data ingestion and transformation.
• Drive security best practices: Secrets Manager, least privilege IAM, network segmentation.
