Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team in a hybrid capacity. You will own reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities, building cloud infrastructure (AWS-first), CI/CD, and DevOps tooling to speed data product delivery.

You’ll work with AWS Glue, Athena, and S3, shaping the observability, security, and scalability of production data systems while mentoring teammates and driving best practices across the stack.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE with at least 2 years in data engineering.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager, and CloudFormation/CDK.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services: Glue, Athena, and S3 data lake management.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI or equivalent.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to design observability systems: metrics, logs, tracing, alerts.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and promotion of AWS Glue ETL jobs and Athena views.
• Build and manage AWS infrastructure using IaC (Terraform/AWS CDK) including S3, IAM, Glue, Athena, VPCs, and data lake permissions.
• Own the observability stack for data pipelines with metrics, logs, and alerts to ensure SLA compliance and fast incident response.
• Develop and maintain the DataOps self-service tooling and shared libraries for production-grade pipelines.
• Manage container and compute infra (Docker, ECS/EKS, Lambda) to support data ingestion microservices and orchestration workers.
• Design and operate workflow orchestration environments (MWAA, Apache Airflow, Step Functions) including upgrades and scaling.
• Build and maintain Glue ETL jobs (PySpark) for large-scale data processing on S3 lake.
• Drive security practices: Secrets Manager, least-privilege IAM, network segmentation, compliance controls.
• Collaborate with data engineers, scientists, and security to translate requirements into scalable infra solutions.
• Lead incident response for data platform outages and perform post-mortems to drive improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers in DevOps and data engineering practices, conduct reviews.
