Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join the Data Platform team in a hybrid role. You will own reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines, building cloud infra (AWS-first), CI/CD tooling, and DevOps pipelines that empower data engineers to ship high-quality data products safely and quickly.

You will design and operate data workflows with AWS Glue, Athena, and S3, focusing on security, observability, and scalable architectures.

Formación

• 5+ years in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE with data engineering work.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda.
• Hands-on experience with Glue, Athena, and S3 lifecycle management.
• Proficiency with IaC tools Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
• Strong CI/CD experience and container orchestration knowledge.
• Excellent communication to translate ops into clear trade-offs.

Responsabilidades

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and promotion of AWS Glue ETL jobs and Athena views.
• Build and manage AWS-based infrastructure using IaC (Terraform and/or CDK).
• Own observability: metrics, logs, alerts, and incident response for data pipelines.
• Develop DataOps self-service tooling and reusable pipeline templates.
• Mentor engineers and participate in code/design reviews.
