EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to design and maintain large-scale Cassandra-based data systems. You will deploy clusters, tune performance, and ensure reliability for critical business operations. The role emphasizes deep NoSQL architecture, data modeling, and robust infrastructure management.

You will work with Linux and Java environments, implement CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with global teams to deliver scalable data solutions and integrated analytics capability.

Formación

• Minimum three years of hands-on experience with Cassandra or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Astra or AWS Keyspaces platforms is a plus.
• Knowledge of Cassandra internals: gossip protocol, hinted handoffs, read repair, Merkle trees.

Responsabilidades

• Plan Cassandra cluster deployments by estimating data volume and hardware needs.
• Set up and configure Cassandra clusters from scratch.
• Monitor cluster availability and performance with appropriate tools.
• Export data formats for downstream usage.
• Apply indexes to optimize queries.
• Backup and restore procedures to protect data.
• Tune JVM, cache, and compaction settings for performance.
• Run stress tests and analyze performance metrics.
