EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Data Software Engineer to blend hands-on engineering with technical leadership, shaping data architecture and delivery across complex projects.

You will design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, work with Spark, Python, SQL, Databricks and NoSQL, and guide delivery with agile practices across multiple stakeholders.

This role offers international project exposure, strong collaboration with global teams, and opportunities to upskill with advanced data technologies.

Formación

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong core Python skills for data engineering tasks.
• Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
• Experience with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.
• Experience with Databricks for data engineering and analytics workflows.
• Excellent English proficiency (B2 level or higher).

Responsabilidades

• Architect and maintain the code base for ETL and ELT pipelines, along with large batch, micro-batch, and streaming systems.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources using ADF, Spark, Kafka, or similar technologies.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, such as automating manual tasks, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability.
• Design and implement data services solutions using technologies such as Spring Boot, ReactJS, NoSQL, and related UI and API tools.
• Ensure governance of delivery management and production processes according to the selected delivery model.
• Act as the single point of responsibility for delivery-related matters with top management and stakeholders, including escalations, upsells, and ramp-downs.

We are looking for a Senior Data Software Engineer to join our team. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, offering the opportunity to shape data architecture while guiding delivery across complex projects. You will work closely with stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure robust, scalable solutions are delivered consistently. If you enjoy balancing deep technical work with ownership of delivery outcomes, this position offers a great fit.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain the code base for ETL and ELT pipelines, along with large batch, micro-batch, and streaming systems
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources using ADF, Spark, Kafka, or similar technologies
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, such as automating manual tasks, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability
• Design and implement data services solutions using technologies such as Spring Boot, ReactJS, NoSQL, and related UI and API tools
• Ensure governance of delivery management and production processes according to the selected delivery model
• Act as the single point of responsibility for delivery-related matters with top management and stakeholders, including escalations, upsells, and ramp-downs
• Provide technical leadership for delivery, ensuring a sound and future-proof architecture is planned and implementation meets required quality standards
• Write user stories and associated acceptance criteria within an agile/scrum workflow
• Coordinate across multiple disciplines and stakeholders to align delivery efforts
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with customer processes and methodologies, with strong familiarity in various delivery models and a focus on agile approaches
• Establish a continuous delivery risk management strategy that supports proactive decisions and actions throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Measure and improve delivery productivity over time
• Serve as a consultant to Data Engineers, supporting quality and timely delivery of their work
• Perform production support and deployment activities

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Strong core Python skills for data engineering tasks
• Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying
• Experience with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing
• Familiarity with Anthropic Claude Code
• Experience with Databricks for data engineering and analytics workflows
• Excellent English proficiency (B2 level or higher)

• Experience with Apache Kafka for event streaming
