Job summary

Bowery Creative LLC is seeking a Backend Engineer to own Node.js services end-to-end, designing and building REST APIs with NestJS, and managing PostgreSQL schemas via TypeORM. You will contribute to reliable backend features at a sustainable pace and ensure code quality with tests.

You will work in a fully remote setting, collaborating with an engineering team that emphasizes code quality, migrations, and a structured PR workflow.

Qualifications

• Strong, production-level TypeScript — you are comfortable with types, generics, and strict mode.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and NestJS, including modules, providers, and DI patterns.
• Solid PostgreSQL skills: you write real SQL and manage schema changes through migrations with TypeORM.
• Experience writing tests with Vitest or Jest, not just as an afterthought.
• Comfortable with a Git PR workflow and GitHub Actions for CI.

Responsibilities

• Design and build REST APIs using NestJS, leveraging its module system and dependency injection
• Write and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and queries through TypeORM
• Ensure code quality through unit and integration tests with Vitest or Jest
• Participate in code review via GitHub Pull Requests and keep the CI pipeline green
• Collaborate with the broader engineering team to define and refine backend architecture
