Bluelight is a leading software consultancy expanding across the US and the Americas, seeking a senior backend-focused developer to join our growing team. You will architect, build, and scale high-quality applications using Node.js, TypeScript, and React, while aligning with best practices and security standards.

You will work on low-latency API services in AWS, contribute to secure multi-tenant environments, and collaborate across a distributed, highly skilled group.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional backend-focused software development.
• Strong Node.js, TypeScript and JavaScript experience.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS.
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SDK integrations to other services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments.
• Comfortable writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations (e.g., node-postgres, node-pg-migrate).
• Professional experience with React.
• Strong testing practices, including integration tests against real databases and failure-mode/fault-injection testing.
• Experience working with AI coding assistants as part of daily development.
• CI/CD application creation and maintenance skills.
• Solid understanding of full stack development, with the ability to contribute to frontend work when needed.
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems.
• Ability to overlap US business hours.
• Bachelor's degree required.
