Bluelight is seeking an experienced backend-focused software engineer to join its growing team. You will develop high-quality applications, focusing on low-latency API services in AWS and scalable RESTful APIs, with opportunities to contribute to frontend work as needed.

The role requires strong Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL experience, plus a track record delivering secure, multi-tenant solutions and rigorous testing practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional software development experience (backend-focused).
• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS.
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SDK integrations to other services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments.
• Comfortable writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations (node-postgres, node-pg-migrate).
• Professional experience with React.
• Strong testing practices, including integration tests against real databases and fault-injection testing.
• Experience working with AI coding assistants as part of daily development.
• CI/CD application creation and maintenance skills.
• Solid understanding of full stack development, with the ability to contribute to frontend work when needed.
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems.
• Ability to overlap US business hours.
