Darwoft is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer to join our AI-native platform focused on legal tech and M&A SaaS. You will own core systems, navigate a large codebase, and drive architectural decisions with AI coding agents to accelerate delivery.

We value pragmatic, product-oriented engineers who can ship reliable software at scale across a remote-first, contractor engagement. You will collaborate with product leadership to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Production software experience is essential.
• Strong fundamentals in architecture, design, debugging, testing and maintainability.
• Experience with large or complex existing codebases.
• Backend or full‑stack development with modern languages and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Navigate, understand, and evolve a large existing production codebase.
• Design and implement new product capabilities across a complex SaaS platform.
• Make pragmatic architectural and system design decisions as the product scales.
• Identify technical debt, risks, reliability issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, or similar AI coding agents throughout the lifecycle.
• Leverage AI agents to explore codebases, design implementations, generate/refactor code, and test.
• Build and evolve backend services, APIs, integrations, data models, and workflows.
• Contribute across the application stack when needed.
• Strengthen automated testing, observability, reliability, and production readiness.
• Improve development workflows, tooling, automation, and engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across app, data, and infra layers.
• Balance speed with quality and long‑term maintainability.
• Collaborate with product leadership to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Help a small team achieve greater development leverage through AI‑assisted engineering.
