Darwoft, a Latin American remote-first software company, seeks a senior/staff software engineer to build production systems using AI-native tooling. You will navigate a large codebase, guide architectural decisions, and improve reliability while leveraging AI coding agents to boost velocity.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, ownership, and product-minded problem solving in a remote, contractor arrangement with USD payments.

Formación

• Production software experience.
• Strong fundamentals: architecture, design, debugging, testing, maintainability.
• Experience with large/complex codebases.
• Backend or full-stack with modern languages & frameworks.
• Experience with web apps & SaaS products.
• APIs, architecture, integrations, data modeling, distributed systems.
• Relational databases & production data environments.
• Automated testing & modern software practices.
• Cloud environments, CI/CD, deployments, production operations.

Responsabilidades

• Navigate and evolve a large production codebase.
• Design and implement new product capabilities across a complex SaaS platform.
• Make pragmatic architectural and system design decisions as the product scales.
• Identify debt, risks, reliability issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, or similar AI agents extensively in development.
• Leverage AI to explore codebases, design implementations, generate and refactor production code, debug issues, write tests, and accelerate delivery.
• Build and evolve backend services, APIs, data models, and application workflows.
• Contribute across the stack when needed.
• Strengthen testing, observability, reliability, and production readiness.
• Improve workflows, tooling, automation, and engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot issues across app, data, and infrastructure layers.
• Balance speed with long-term maintainability.
• Work with product leadership to translate business problems into tech solutions.
• Help a small team gain more leverage through AI-assisted engineering.
