Atomic Hr seeks an experienced SEO Lead for a fully remote role with a US-based higher education marketing agency. You will own the strategy, execution, and optimization of SEO initiatives across multiple partner accounts, driving long-term organic growth and AI-enabled performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SEO with 3+ focusing on technical SEO, ideally across multiple sites.
• Demonstrated ability to identify high-impact issues and prioritize fixes.
• Hands-on experience with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs or Semrush.
• Strong WordPress knowledge for theme/plugin/schema tasks and precise fixes.
• Advanced experience with Claude for AI-assisted workflows.
• Clear written communication; able to spec for developers and explain to clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute SEO, AEO, and GEO strategies across multiple higher education accounts.
• Build roadmaps aligned with enrollment goals and business objectives.
• Conduct keyword, topic, competitor, entity, and search intent research.
• Lead technical SEO initiatives: site audits, crawl analysis, indexing, Core Web Vitals, structured data, internal linking.
• Collaborate with Web Development to implement technical improvements.
• Optimize content and landing pages for search visibility and AI discoverability.
• Identify content gaps to strengthen topical authority across the student journey.
• Monitor rankings, organic traffic, conversions, and other SEO KPIs; deliver insights.
• Own monthly SEO reporting and share strategic recommendations with stakeholders.
• Stay current on search algorithms, AI advancements, and best practices.
• Evaluate emerging search tech and AI tools to improve workflows and performance.
