Prometeo Talent is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a fast-growing US-based cybersecurity startup. This 100% remote role offers LATAM flexibility, focusing on building scalable backend services in Java and Python.

You will own features end-to-end, design distributed systems, and leverage AI-assisted development. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in software, strong backend expertise, and a proactive ownership mindset.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or backend development.
• 5+ years of professional experience with Python, building and maintaining production-grade backend systems.
• Strong experience with Java and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AI/LLM-based application development and AI-driven features.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python.
• Develop distributed systems involving databases, APIs, message queues, and data processing pipelines.
• Take full ownership of features from design to monitoring and optimization.
• Build production-ready systems with a focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Improve system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
