Prometeo Talent is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in a fast-growing US-based cybersecurity startup. You will own features end-to-end, work with Java and Python, and collaborate with a team applying AI-assisted development workflows to increase productivity without sacrificing quality.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or backend development.
• 5+ years with Python, building production-grade backend systems.
• Strong experience with Java.
• Hands-on experience with AI/LLM-based development in production environments.
• Experience building AI-driven features and agentic workflows in production.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalable architectures, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with databases, message queues, and data processing pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Ownership mindset, autonomy, and ability to thrive in startup or fast-paced environments.
• Advanced English level.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python.
• Develop distributed systems involving databases, APIs, message queues, and data processing pipelines.
• Take full ownership of features and services from design to monitoring and optimization.
• Build production-ready systems with focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
