Prometeo Talent is partnering with a US-based cybersecurity startup to hire a Senior Backend Engineer. The role focuses on building scalable backend services in Java and Python, with strong ownership and a drive for architectural excellence.

The candidate will work in a highly technical, fast-paced startup environment, embracing AI-assisted development workflows while delivering production-ready systems and optimizable architectures.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering or backend development.
• 5+ years of professional Python experience, building production-grade backends.
• Strong experience with Java.
• Hands-on AI/LLM-based application development in production.
• Experience with distributed systems and scalable architectures.
• Experience with databases, message queues, and data pipelines.
• Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes in production.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Python.
• Develop distributed systems with databases, APIs, queues, and data processing pipelines.
• Own features end-to-end from design to monitoring and optimization.
• Build production-ready systems focusing on reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into solutions.
• Improve system performance and scalability across the platform.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery without compromising quality.
• Participate in architectural discussions and key technical decisions.
