Job summary

Prometeo Talent is partnering with a fast-growing US-based cybersecurity startup to hire a Senior Backend Engineer. You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Java and Python, and own features end-to-end.

You will work in a distributed team, leverage AI-assisted development, and collaborate with customers to design ingestion pipelines and robust systems. This is a 100% remote role for LATAM with strong ownership and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software/backend experience.
• 5+ years with Python, building production-grade backends.
• Strong Java experience.
• Experience with AI/LLM-based development in production.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain scalable backend services with Java and Python.
• Develop distributed systems involving databases, APIs, message queues, and data processing pipelines.
• Own features from design to monitoring and optimization.
• Build production-ready systems with focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Improve system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring code quality.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decisions.
• Improve development processes and engineering standards.
