Job summary

briefCASE Legal Support, LLC is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support a Texas-based personal injury law firm from a remote location outside the United States. You will work with U.S.-based attorneys, case managers, and clients, handling pre-litigation and litigation tasks throughout the lifecycle of personal injury cases.

This remote independent contractor role offers exposure to discovery, depositions, court filings, settlements, and trial preparation, with opportunities to advance

Qualifications

• Experience with U.S.-based personal injury law firms.
• Hands-on personal injury litigation experience, including discovery and court filings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines independently.
• Familiarity with case management software (e.g., Filevine).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys and case managers throughout the personal injury litigation process.
• Draft, organize, and file pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and motions.
• Coordinate discovery, track responses, and follow up on items.
• Monitor court deadlines, hearings, and trial dates.
• Prepare deposition and trial materials and organize case evidence.
• Open and maintain client files in the case management system.
• Communicate with clients professionally and maintain confidentiality.
