Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a part-time Data Engineering & Infrastructure Lead to audit AWS architecture, CI/CD processes, and ETL decisions in an advisory capacity. The role weighs managed tooling vs. custom builds, reviews SageMaker-based pipelines, and mentors the team on engineering standards.

Claude Code usage and AI-assisted workflows are evaluated for quality and cost governance. You will report findings to leadership, setting technical direction and risk readiness.

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on AWS experience including ECS/Fargate, ECR, RDS Postgres, S3, SageMaker, and networking components.
• Fluency with Terraform IaC.
• Proven track record auditing CI/CD pipelines and SDLC governance.
• Strong data engineering depth for ETL/integration architecture.
• Experience evaluating AI-assisted development workflows (Claude Code).
• Part-time advisory capacity (50% moving to 25%).

Responsibilities

• Audit the current AWS architecture across live applications, including ECS/ECR, RDS Postgres, S3, VPC, CloudFront, and SageMaker-based pipelines.
• Review CI/CD process and SDLC governance, suggesting environment separation and release gating.
• Assess Claude Code usage for code generation and reviews to ensure engineering standards.
• Provide early technical opinions on ETL/ingestion architecture and tool choices.
• Mentor the infrastructure build team, focusing on AWS, DevOps, CI/CD, and data engineering practices.
• Set recommendations and technical direction from audit findings for leadership.
• Report findings and recommendations directly to leadership with risk framing.
