Newsela is seeking a senior data engineer to shape our data ecosystem by building robust pipelines and applying modern software engineering practices. You will work with stakeholders to drive data-driven decision-making and manage large-scale analytics infrastructure.

You will transform data using SQL and Python, apply automated testing, and expand our data warehouse with clean data ready for analysis. This role emphasizes autonomy and deep domain knowledge in data systems.

Formación

• 8+ years of experience working with data in a software environment.
• Mastered proficiency in SQL and Python; advanced experience with data catalog tooling and data integrity testing frameworks.
• Experience with dbt orchestration and best practices; autonomous and proactive work style; deep data systems knowledge.

Responsabilidades

• Model and transform data; build analyses using SQL and Python; expand data warehouse with clean data.
• Apply data testing strategies to ensure data quality and validate business logic in ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data expectations; surface insights and drive data-driven decisions.
• Build tools to run data infrastructure and manage large-scale migrations in relational datastores.
