Newsela is seeking a senior data engineer to shape our data ecosystem by building robust pipelines and applying modern software engineering principles. You will work with stakeholders to drive data-driven decision-making and manage large-scale infrastructure and automation.

You will model and transform data, expand the data warehouse with clean data, and implement automated testing to ensure data quality. Bring autonomy and deep domain knowledge to our analytics stack.

Formación

• 8+ years of experience working with data in a software environment.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; advanced data tooling and data integrity testing frameworks.
• Experience with dbt orchestration and best practices.

Responsabilidades

• Data Modeling and Transformation.
• Build analyses using SQL and Python.
• Apply software engineering principles to analytics codebase (version control, CI).
• Expand our data warehouse with clean data for analysis.
• Apply data testing strategies to ensure data quality.
• Validate checks and automated tests for ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define business logic and data expectations.
• Surface insights to stakeholders and drive data-driven decisions.
• Lead initiatives from scoping to planning in data projects.
• Build tools to run data infrastructure; manage large-scale data migrations.
