Political Asylum Lawyers in Houston seeks an immigration assistant to be the primary contact for clients, engaging daily in English and Spanish with strong communication and empathy. You will respond to inquiries, gather documents, and keep cases moving through established workflows.

You’ll work without needing deep immigration law knowledge, but you must master our SOPs, work quietly, stay focused, and adapt as tasks evolve in a fast-growing firm.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing immigration applications is preferred but not required.
• Commitment to helping immigrants through asylum.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Tech-focused and eager to learn new systems and procedures.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathetic and able to work under significant stress.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to perform with minimal supervision.
• Able to meet deadlines consistently.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the firm’s main point of contact with clients, in English and Spanish.
• Return calls and replies to emails from clients and potential clients.
• Proactively provide status updates and manage client expectations.
• Coordinate case milestones and ensure deadlines are met.
• Assist in case logistics and document collection for submissions.
• Contribute to development and improvement of company protocols.
