Job summary

Latino Legends is seeking a hands-on Backend Developer to own backend systems, data pipelines, and GCP infrastructure for our US housing market data platform.

You will work with Python services, APIs, ETL pipelines, BigQuery, and GCP, while contributing to frontend features using React, Next.js, and TypeScript. The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, performance, reliability, and iterative improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python backend development and APIs in production.
• Advanced SQL and BigQuery experience with large datasets.
• Production experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong background in ETL/data pipelines.
• Experience with asynchronous processing and background jobs.
• Understanding of data architecture, system design, performance optimization, and debugging.
• Some React/JavaScript/TypeScript experience to work with frontend codebase.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools and modern development workflows.
• Strong English communication for daily standups and collaboration.
• Experience with Git and modern development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Python backend services and APIs.
• Design and optimize ETL and large-scale data processing pipelines.
• Work with BigQuery and advanced SQL.
• Manage scheduled jobs, queues, background processes, and asynchronous workflows.
• Work with GCP infrastructure including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, monitoring, and load balancing.
• Optimize data precomputation, packaging, caching, and serving.
• Debug issues across data sources, pipelines, databases, APIs, infrastructure, and frontend.
• Contribute to frontend features using React/Next.js/TypeScript with AI coding tools.
• Own features end-to-end from architecture to data pipeline, API, frontend, deployment, and analytics.
• Monitor performance, reliability, and product usage after launch.
