Job summary

Clorox is seeking an R&D Packaging Scientist to lead end-to-end packaging development across AMEA, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external manufacturers. You will manage specifications, test methods, and pilot trials while advancing sustainability goals and ensuring robust commercialization processes.

The role combines lab execution with data-driven decision making, leveraging design of experiments, testing, and risk assessment to deliver innovative, cost-effective packaging

Qualifications

• 3+ years of packaging development or packaging engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical discipline; Master’s is relevant.
• Fluency in English and ability to communicate technical information effectively.
• Knowledge of ASTM packaging testing methods and packaging validation approaches.
• Ability to work in lab and manufacturing environments with various materials and prototypes.
• Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive packaging innovation: develop packaging solutions that meet functional, regulatory, sustainability, and brand requirements across AMEA markets.
• Execute with technical excellence: own end-to-end packaging development from concept to production.
• Own technical specifications: create and manage packaging specs for primary to display packaging.
• Advance sustainability commitments: work with Sustainability team toward 2030 packaging goals.
• Support commercialization: develop SOPs, test methods, pilot and production trials, scale-up.
• Collaborate across functions and markets: partner with Global R&D, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and external partners.
• Strengthen packaging capability: promote technical standards and knowledge sharing.
