Job summary

Abbott Laboratories is seeking an experienced Level 2 Tax and Accounting Support Specialist (CPA / EA preferred) to deliver specialized Level 2 support for complex US accounting, tax, bookkeeping and payroll inquiries from a remote Argentina team.

The role requires strong technical accounting judgment and the ability to investigate and resolve issues independently, with coverage 8:00 AM–8:00 PM ET and overlap with US business hours.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional accounting experience, ideally with exposure to US accounting and taxation.
• Experience with bookkeeping, tax return review, reconciliations, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Strong English written and verbal communication; able to explain complex topics to non-technical customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized Level 2 support for complex US customer accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and payroll inquiries.
• Investigate and resolve escalated accounting and tax tickets; review discrepancies and transactions.
• Assist customers with tax notices, filing status questions, and tax return questions within scope.
• Support payroll questions, setup, processing issues, and troubleshooting.
• Communicate technical findings via Zendesk, email, and scheduled phone support.
• Independently investigate issues, identify root causes, and coordinate with internal specialists.
• Document resolutions and maintain accurate customer records.
• Identify recurring issues and improve workflows and knowledge resources.
• Learn and work with proprietary platforms and AI-assisted workflows.
