Job summary

MAVI seeks an Inventory Accounting Manager to own inventory accounting, landed cost, and COGS for a US consumer goods company, working remotely from Argentina.

You will lead the area’s people, ensure close accuracy, support audits, capitalize costs, and maintain controls across warehouses and 3PLs, with daily overlap with US teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of accounting experience and leadership of accountants.

• US GAAP experience, or IFRS/Argentine GAAP exposure with US clients.
• Experience with NetSuite, Cin7, Fishbowl, or Dynamics.
• Strong written and spoken English for daily collaboration with US teams.

Responsibilities

• Own inventory roll-forward across warehouses, 3PLs, and in-transit stock.
• Capitalize freight, duties, and tariffs into landed cost accurately.
• Support cycle counts and physical counts and resolve differences.
• Calculate excess, obsolete, and shrink reserves with auditor support.
• Design controls over receiving, transfers, and adjustments.
• Lead and develop a team of accountants with clear standards.

The Role

We are seeking an Inventory Accounting Manager to own inventory accounting, landed cost, and COGS at a US consumer goods company, working remotely from Argentina.

You will lead the area's people and its day-to-day results, reporting to the Controller or VP of Finance, while staying hands-on whenever the close or an audit needs it.

What You'll Own

• Inventory roll-forward. Maintain the inventory roll-forward across warehouses, 3PLs, and in-transit stock.
• Landed cost. Capitalize freight, duties, and tariffs into landed cost accurately.
• Counts. Support cycle counts and physical counts, and resolve book-to-physical differences.
• Reserves. Calculate excess, obsolete, and shrink reserves with support an auditor accepts.
• Inventory controls. Design controls over receiving, transfers, and adjustments.
• The team. Lead, review, and develop a team of accountants, setting clear standards for quality and timeliness.
• Controls. Design and maintain the controls and approval workflows for your area, and fix gaps before an auditor finds them.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of accounting experience
• Experience leading accountants and owning the review of their work
• Experience with inventory accounting, including landed cost and reserves
• US GAAP experience, or strong Argentine GAAP (FACPCE) or IFRS experience with exposure to US clients or entities
• Experience with NetSuite, Cin7, Fishbowl, or Microsoft Dynamics
• Strong written and spoken English for daily work with US teams
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification

Preferred

• Experience with 3PL or WMS data and multi-location inventory
• Experience using AI tools in accounting workflows, with the judgment to review and correct AI-generated output

Work Arrangement

This is a fully remote role with a single client company for the duration of the engagement. Full-time roles require a minimum of 4 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time (ET); part-time roles require a minimum of 2 hours.
