Job summary

MAVI is seeking an Accounts Payable Lead to own vendor payments for a high-growth US company, working remotely from Argentina. This senior individual contributor role will handle the hardest reconciliations and judgment calls, review others' work, and serve as the escalation point for auditors.

You will drive AP automation initiatives, ensure timely invoice processing and weekly payment runs, onboard vendors, manage 1099s, and coach junior accountants toward accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience reviewing others' work and resolving complex reconciling items.
• Experience with full-cycle accounts payable.
• US GAAP or Argentine GAAP/IFRS with exposure to US clients.
• Experience with Bill.com, Ramp, Tipalti, or Coupa; plus NetSuite or QuickBooks Online.
• Strong written and spoken English for daily work with US teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

The Role

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Lead to own accounts payable and vendor payments at a high-growth US company, working remotely from Argentina.

This is the senior individual contributor seat in the area: you will own the hardest reconciliations and judgment calls, review the work of others, and be the first escalation point for the team and for auditors.

What You'll Own

• Invoice processing. Process vendor invoices and expense reports accurately and on time.
• Payment runs. Prepare weekly payment runs, including ACH and international wires.
• Vendor management. Onboard vendors and keep W-9s and 1099s complete.
• AP reconciliation. Reconcile the AP subledger and accrue unbilled expenses.
• AP automation. Lead automation of invoice capture and approvals.
• Review and coaching. Review entries and reconciliations prepared by others, and coach junior accountants on how to get them right the first time.

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of accounting experience
• Experience reviewing other accountants' work and resolving complex reconciling items
• Experience with full-cycle accounts payable
• US GAAP experience, or strong Argentine GAAP (FACPCE) or IFRS experience with exposure to US clients or entities
• Experience with Bill.com, Ramp, Tipalti, or Coupa, plus NetSuite or QuickBooks Online
• Strong written and spoken English for daily work with US teams
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent professional qualification

Preferred

• Experience with 1099 reporting
• Experience using AI tools in accounting workflows, with the judgment to review and correct AI-generated output

Work Arrangement

This is a fully remote role with a single client company for the duration of the engagement. Full-time roles require a minimum of 4 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time (ET); part-time roles require a minimum of 2 hours.
