Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. This hybrid role focuses on reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities.

You will build and maintain AWS-first cloud infrastructure, CI/CD tooling, and data engineering support systems to ship data products faster and safer. You’ll work with data engineers, scientists, and security teams to translate requirements into scalable infrastructure, implement CI/CD for Glue ETL jobs,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in DevOps or site reliability engineering with data engineering work.
• Expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager, and CDK/CFN.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services: Glue, Athena, and S3 lifecycle/events.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools: Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
• Strong CI/CD experience: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
• Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and promotion of AWS Glue ETL jobs and related data infra.
• Build and manage AWS infrastructure using IaC covering S3, IAM, VPC, Glue resources, Athena workgroups, Lake Formation, and networking.
• Own observability stack for data pipelines with metrics, logs, and alerts to ensure SLA compliance.
• Manage container and compute infra used to support data ingestion microservices and workers.
• Build and maintain AWS Glue ETL jobs (PySpark) for large-scale data ingestion and transformation.
• Collaborate with data engineers/scientists to translate requirements into scalable infrastructure solutions.
