Job summary

Equals True LLC is seeking a Design Director who will lead multidisciplinary teams to craft digital identities for top brands. You will own the creative direction, mentor designers, and shape briefs with clients and stakeholders.

You’ll drive brand, visual design and UI work, build design systems, and stay ahead with emerging tools. This is a remote, LATAM-friendly, full-time engagement with a social mission and inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams in digital contexts.
• Digital-first portfolio showing craft and process from concept to delivery.
• Strong hands-on skills in brand, visual design and UI, including wireframes.
• Experience building a design system or visual framework from scratch.
• Ability to present and defend design decisions with senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite; collaboration tools like Notion and Miro.

The Work (What you'll be doing & Your Impact)

• Lead design for agency projects for some of the world's biggest digital brands.
• Own projects from concept through final delivery, setting creative direction while staying hands-on with the work.
• Work across art direction, brand, visual design, and UI to create digital-first experiences and campaigns.
• Partner with clients, producers, and strategists to shape briefs, present ideas, and guide creative decisions.
• Mentor and develop designers through clear feedback, thoughtful critique, and strong creative judgment.
• Build and refine design systems, tools, and workflows that improve quality and make collaboration easier.
• Stay curious about emerging tools, including AI, and use good judgment about when they add real value to the work.

Needed Expertise (What you need to succeed in the role)

• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams at a senior level in a digital agency, design studio, or in-house creative team.
• A digital-first portfolio that showcases both craft and process, from early exploration through final execution.
• Strong hands-on skills across brand, visual design, and UI, including wireframing and prototyping.
• Experience building a design system or visual framework from the ground up.
• Ability to present and stand behind design decisions with senior stakeholders.
• Strong command of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, along with collaboration tools like Notion and Miro.

Not Required But Nice To Have Expertise (What would be great for you to have)

• Motion design skills or experience directing motion designers.
• Familiarity with how interactive web experiences are built, with an understanding of technical feasibility.
