Job summary

A leading financial institution in Abu Dhabi is seeking a professional responsible for managing the demand for their Technology portfolio. This role includes orchestrating yearly portfolio planning, educating teams on prioritization processes, reviewing business cases, and monitoring the budget and financial KPIs across all projects in the Technology space. Candidates will need to ensure project alignments with Enterprise Architecture and be proactive in sharing feedback for refinement, making this an essential position for operational success.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for collecting demands for the Technology portfolio.
• Orchestrates yearly portfolio planning and demand management across Technology portfolio.
• Educates Technology teams on adopting a holistic demand prioritization process.
• Works with Architecture Manager VP and Portfolio Heads to ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture.
• Reviews Technology demand and proactively shares feedback with Portfolio Heads.
• Reviews Business Case Documents shared by Technology team for projects.
• Validates financial and value metrics that are part of the BCD.
• Shares final BCD with Group Finance for approval.
• Tracks and reports utilized budget with respect to planned budget for the Technology portfolio.
• Tracks and reports realized benefits of the Technology portfolio.
• Works with Portfolio Heads and Group Finance to refine benefit targets or budget spend.
• Ensures smooth transition once a project has launched to initiate value tracking.
• Reports value and financial KPIs across Technology projects.

Job description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Responsible for collecting demands for the Technology portfolio
• Orchestrates yearly portfolio planning and demand management across Technology portfolio with Portfolio Head(s) and ensures all deadlines are met
• Educates Technology teams on adopting a holistic demand prioritization process which is based on quantifying the value of a project through financial metrics (Budget, Benefits, Timelines), non-financial metrics (Enterprise Architecture, ESG, and Customer Experience), and compliance (regulatory and audit), among other metrics
• Works with Architecture Manager VP and Portfolio Head(s) to ensure Technology demand and projects are in line with the Enterprise Architecture target state
• Reviews the Technology demand and proactively shares feedback with the Portfolio Heads for refinement

Responsible for reviewing Technology business cases

• Reviews the Business Case Documents (BCD) shared by Technology team for each project
• Validates the financial and value metrics that are part of the BCD
• Shares final BCD with Group Finance for approval

Responsible for monitoring portfolio budget and spend

• Tracks and reports the utilized budget with respect to planned budget for the Technology portfolio. Highlight any faced or expected risks
• Tracks and reports the realized benefits of the Technology portfolio with respect to expected benefits. Highlights any faced or expected risks
• Works with the Portfolio Heads and Group Finance to refine or update the benefit targets or expected budget spend

Responsible for tracking and reporting value

• Ensures smooth transition once a project has launched to initiate value tracking
• Reports value and financial KPIs across all Technology projects that have gone live/started within the Technology Portfolio
