Underwriter jobs in United Arab Emirates

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Associate Underwriter to join our team in the UAE. The successful candidate will support underwriting processes by assessing risk, processing insurance applications, and ensuring that policies are in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Evaluate and assess risk factors for new and renewal insurance policies.
2. Underwrite various insurance products, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and underwriting standards.
3. Gather and analyze necessary documentation to make informed underwriting decisions.
4. Work with brokers, clients, and agents to obtain required information and clarify policy details.
5. Review and process policy applications, endorsements, and renewals within agreed timeframes.
6. Monitor and track policy performance, ensuring timely renewals and updates to coverage.
7. Assist senior underwriters in risk assessments, pricing strategies, and risk mitigation.
8. Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging risks.
9. Communicate underwriting decisions effectively to clients and internal stakeholders.
10. Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to local and international regulatory standards (e.g., UAE Insurance Authority regulations).

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. 1-3 years of experience in underwriting or insurance operations, preferably in the UAE or GCC.
3. Knowledge of different types of insurance products (life, health, property, etc.).
4. Familiarity with insurance software and tools for underwriting and policy management.
5. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in risk evaluation.
6. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards.
7. Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
8. Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
9. Knowledge of UAE insurance regulations and practices is a plus.
