Accounting Generalist
Job summary
A financial services company located in Dubai is seeking an accountant to maintain and update general ledger accounts, process transactions, and assist with financial reporting. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and preferably 2 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in accounting software and strong analytical skills are essential for success in this role.
Qualifications
- 2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements for accurate cash management.
- Assist in preparation of financial reports.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.

- Maintain and update general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate cash management.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and post journal entries with proper documentation.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audits and reporting.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- 2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience in payroll processing and tax filings.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
