Job summary

A financial services company located in Dubai is seeking an accountant to maintain and update general ledger accounts, process transactions, and assist with financial reporting. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and preferably 2 years of relevant experience. Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate cash management.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with proper documentation.
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audits and reporting.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • 2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in payroll processing and tax filings.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
