About The Role

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to join Qatar Airways Ground Services as an Airport Services Duty Officer based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

In this role, you will supervise and control flight-handling activities such as flight editing, check-in, transfers, and boarding to ensure high service standards. You will aim to achieve maximum customer satisfaction and on-time departures. Additionally, you will have overall control of the shift as a direct representative of the Airport Services Manager, ensuring the punctuality and safety of all Qatar Airways operations.

Specific Accountabilities Include

1. Ensuring passenger and aircraft handling practices conform to safety and security standards.
2. Meeting all Qatar Airways aircraft handling standards on a shift basis.
3. Managing and controlling manpower during the shift to optimize utilization, staff morale, and discipline.
4. Proper allocation of manpower and resources in airport operations.
5. Performing checks to maintain standard compliance.
6. Resolving customer problems and complaints during duty, collaborating with departments including Customer Relations for resolution.
7. Facilitating ramp handling activities in coordination with GHA, caterers, fueling, maintenance, cargo, and crew to expedite departures.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

1. Relevant college or university qualification.
2. Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in an airline or reputable Ground Handling Operations at a supervisory level.
3. Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
4. Knowledge of weight and balance, ramp handling, and dangerous goods regulations.
5. Ability to perform duties under pressure while maintaining high customer service standards.
6. Good understanding of conditions of carriage, international civil aviation safety, and security procedures.
7. Experience in passenger services, baggage services, ground operations, dangerous goods regulations, and ramp handling.
8. High level of computer literacy.
9. Excellent customer focus and service delivery skills.
