The Plumber maintains all types of plumbing installations and sanitary systems in order to achieve the required / assigned targets of the work within the designated area of operations with minimum downtime. He is also responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing works used for water distribution and waste water disposal in residential, commercial and office buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Read blueprints, drawings, plumbing codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures in order to understand the layout of waste disposal and water supply systems.

2. Installation of sanitary fittings when required.

3. Assist in carrying out pipe fitting, brazing and welding works as required by the plumbing industry.

4. Cut, assemble and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing piping system / network.

5. Repair or replace broken / damaged pipes, drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets, etc.

6. Excellent understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential, commercial and office buildings.

7. Ability to assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.

8. Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.

9. Able to locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes and fixtures in structures using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.

10. Can do measures, cut, thread and bend pipe to required angle using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines and pipe-bending machines.

11. Repair and maintain plumbing, replacing of defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, and opening clogged drains.

12. Able to install underground storm, sanitary and water piping systems and extend piping in order to connect fixtures and plumbing to these systems.

13. Knows how to use various piping hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment.

14. Carry out any other appropriate works as assigned from time to time.

15. Can attend customers complaints related to piping works as needed.

16. Performs additional tasks assigned by the Line Manager or by the Department Head.

Secondary School

Experience Requirement:

Secondary School with 4-6 Years of Experience
Skill Sets:

1. Working knowledge of heating and ventilation systems as well as appliances
2. Knowledge of standard practices and tools used in piping works
3. Knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to the required trades
4. Able to work as a team and can communicate effectively in verbal and written English
5. Good understanding of basic math and cost estimates
6. Can follow safety guidelines at all times
7. Ability to read technical documents or drawings
8. Proficient in using piping equipment and tools
