Job Description

The IT Applications Specialist is an information technology (IT) professional that leads the design analysis implementation maintenance and ongoing support for company software and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Systems (HR Payroll SCM). The position will design process of application software including creating models analyzing requirements and specifications building adequate and reliable hosting environments implement the software lifecycle requirements from database optimization and administration data backup testing environments to user support and application documentation. Moreover the role is responsible for application security and efficiency. The role will also provide technical user support and training for application systems. It will also include managing ongoing business Change Requests to application functionalities. The IT Applications Specialist will be responsible for monitoring system performances and serve as a Database Administrator. This includes designing and implementing databases in accordance to application and end users information needs and views. This includes defining users and enabling data distribution to the right user on database levels while developing and maintaining database architectures security implementations backups high availability reliability and efficiency. The IT Applications Specialist will also be instrumental in the design and implementation of cross systems integrations.

Operational Accountabilities:

  • Perform database administration including tuning performance monitoring installation configuration upgrades backup restore and investigative troubleshooting for company ERP systems and applications such as Oracle e-Business Suite TRAX AIMS etc.
  • Performing DBA System Administration activities like user/profile creation & assigning responsibility applying patches creating test instances applying Release updates etc.
  • Design develop test and execute backup and disaster recovery solutions for applications and databases including storage devices like disks and tape drives in coordination with Storage and System Administrators.
  • Implement maintain & support Oracle EBS HRMS Payroll and recruitment modules customizations. Writing Fast Formulas New Element definitions etc.
  • Develop maintain test and document custom software scripts reports and integrations using reliable methodologies.
  • Develop Oracle EBS custom forms reports API PL/SQL procedures/packages Workflow shell scripts etc.
  • Support day-to-day operational issues support IT audit reporting HR/Payroll Workflow PO and Inventory transactions etc.
  • Provide users with functional and technical support on ERP systems and databases.
  • Upgrade maintain (Troubleshoot and Fix) company ERP systems and databases as required.
  • Create and maintain reliable application hosting environments in close coordination with System Administrators.
  • Ensure IT Service Desk tickets assigned to yourself are closed within SLAs and that any escalations needed take place as per process and SLAs.
  • Perform out-of-hours visits (possibly on weekends) to sites or data centers to perform any maintenance activities or troubleshooting as required by the IT department.
  • Ensure a successful Change Management process is in place and followed.
  • Ensure IT processes are followed and request forms for services are properly filled processed and filed.
  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction is of a high standard and any escalations are resolved in a professional manner that is satisfactory to the business/users as appropriate.
  • Provide users with IT Training and IT Awareness material as needed.
  • Assist and Participate in innovation and standardization initiatives and the documentation of Systems Infrastructure and standards as required.
Skills

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 10 Years hands on experience as an IT Applications Expert
  • Hands on experience in Database design creation backup optimization and maintenance of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases solid expertise in Software Design and Testing methodologies Integrations and Data Mapping activities.
  • Minimum 2 Project Implementations (Oracle EBS HRMS Payroll and SCM).
  • Must have experience developing Oracle EBS forms reports PL/SQL procedures/packages Workflow Interfaces Discoverer XML etc.
  • Experience working with Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE/OBIA). Oracle E-Business Suite Implementation methodology (AIM) and experience in documenting deliverables (Requirement Gathering GAPS Functional Solution Test Plan etc. )
  • Solid capabilities of managing application and database security and licensing requirements.
  • An advantage would be previous exposure to Airline ERP Systems.

Mandatory:Foundation Oracle EBS HR & Payroll functional and DBA experience

Preferred:Oracle EBS HR & Payroll functional certifications Oracle developer certified professional Oracle and SQL Database Administration certifications Oracle cloud architect
