POSITION SUMMARY
Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues. Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Carry equipment such as tools and radios. Identify, locate, and operate all shutoff valves for equipment and utility shutoffs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication standards. Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance. Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, and thorough cleanup of work areas. Test, troubleshoot, and repair all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items. Program TVs and perform inventory duties related to housekeeping and engineering. Use the Lockout/Tagout system for maintenance work. Perform repairs on landscaping and sprinklers. Display basic computer skills for inputting schedules and adjusting temperatures.
Follow all safety, security, and company policies; report safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials properly. Maintain a professional appearance and confidentiality, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge guests according to standards, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and express appreciation to guests. Adhere to quality standards, develop positive relationships with colleagues, and communicate effectively. Perform physical tasks such as lifting objects up to 50 pounds, moving up and down stairs, and reaching overhead or below the knees. Use computers to locate work-related information and perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
