To provide and monitor 24 hours emergency anesthesia.
To help provide support for 24 hours epidural services.
Provide anesthetics to patients for surgery and intensive care.
The main responsibility would be to care for patients before, during and after surgery, making sure that they are safe and comfortable.
Anesthetists form the largest single hospital medical specialty and their skills are used in all aspects of patient care.
The perioperative anesthetic care of the surgical patient is the core of specialty work (and this includes all types of surgery from simple body surface surgery in adults to the most complex surgery in patients of all ages, including the premature newborn.

To work with the consultant staff to provide a comprehensive anesthesia services across NMCRH-KC.
Expected to participate in overall provision of anesthetic services within the department, to deputies for absent colleagues, to work flexibly, to ensure services and patient care.
To aid in the work of chronic pain services.
Help psychiatric patients receiving electric shock therapy.
The resuscitation and stabilization of patients in the Emergency Department.
Pain relief in labor and obstetric anesthesia.
Transport of acutely ill and injured patients.
The provision of sedation and anesthesia for patients undergoing various procedures outside the operating theatre. Examples of this include different endoscopic procedures, interventional radiology and dental surgery (this list is not exclusive).
Administer anesthetics to patients having operations outside the operating theatre such as radiology and radiotherapy, and dental surgery.
Use different types of anesthetics such as: local anesthetic - for a minor operation on a small area of the body such as the mouth, regional anesthetic – such as an epidural to numb a larger area of the body like the lower back in childbirth, general anesthetic – for more serious operations, to make the patient totally unconscious.
Work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide the most appropriate and complete treatment plan for your patients.
Spend time in a variety of settings such as consulting rooms, wards, operating theatres and special units like accident and emergency.
Deal with emergency situations, so you'll need to be able to work under pressure and make quick decisions.

Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements.

Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports.
Comply with reasonable OSH instructions, policies and safe working procedures.
Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
Not willfully or recklessly endanger anyone’s health and safety.
Assist with the preparation of risk assessments.
Report OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycling of waste as much as possible.

PCI is everyone’s responsibility. All staff are required to read and implement the NMC PCI Policy and Strategy in an effort to maintain the highest possible standards of cleanliness at all times, thus reducing the risk of infection in patients, staff and visitors.
The strictest hand hygiene, 5 moments of hand hygiene, bare below the elbows and environmental care, will be expected of all staff, including the post holder, at all times.
At least 3 - 5 years’ post qualification experience at Specialist level (independent of country)
At least 1 year Specialist level experience from a Tier 1 country as specified by the UAE healthcare regulator.
Basic medical degree and completion of a specialty qualification/education programme (fellowship/diploma) recognised by the relevant UAE healthcare authority.
Certification and registration in a speciality recognised by relevant UAE healthcare authority. Active and valid life support certification (e.g. BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP).
Eligibility for relevant healthcare authority registration e.g. Membership from Royal College / Arab Board Certification / MS / DM / MPhil or an equivalent recognised by relevant healthcare authority in UAE
