A leading global steel solutions provider is looking for a health and safety professional to lead risk awareness and behavioral changes at AM Projects sites in the UAE. The ideal candidate has a degree in engineering, extensive experience in health and safety, and excellent communication skills. This role involves organizing training sessions, conducting investigations, and ensuring compliance with safety policies. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in additional languages is considered a plus.
Formación
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a health and safety role, preferably within an international environment.
- Willingness to travel and work with remote teams.
- Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
Responsabilidades
- Manage and drive health & safety operational excellence.
- Organize and conduct safety training sessions.
- Conduct investigations of workplace accidents.
- Monitor compliance with safety policies.
- Engage with AM Projects sites through audits and inspections.
Conocimientos
Educación
- Bachelor or master’s degree in engineering, occupational health and safety, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a health and safety role, preferably within an international environment
- Ability to collaborate with individuals from various cultural backgrounds
- Competence to provide global transversal coordination and support without managerial empowerment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills for engaging with all organizational levels
- Proficient written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving and active listening skills
- Attention to detail
- Capability to encourage behavioral change
- Strong facilitator with experience of delivering H&S training sessions and coaching
- Experience of working as part of a diverse and remote team
- Knowledge of safety, behavioral psychology, operational risks, and lean manufacturing
- Willingness to travel
- Fluency in English. Any additional language will be considerate as a plus (specifically, Dutch, Hindi, Mandarin, Arabic, Portuguese and Spanish)
Position location: UAE (Sharjah), optional Netherlands (Heijningen)
- Manage, lead & drive risk awareness / assessment, health & safety operational excellence and behavioral changes across AM Projects, focusing on leadership and culture
- Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees to ensure familiarity with safety protocols and procedures
- Conduct investigations of workplace accidents to determine causes and develop preventive measures
- Monitor compliance with safety policies and guidelines through regular review of workplace practicesCarry out risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions
- Actively engage with AM Projects sites through regular meetings, visits, field observations, audits, inspections, reporting analysis, and improvement planning
- Ensure sharing all relevant benchmarks and REXs with the AM Projects Health and Safety community and management, when appropriate
