Job summary

The Ritz-Carlton is seeking a wine program specialist to manage wine lists, pair wines with menu items, and lead the wine team on property in Abu Dhabi. You will attend tastings, build relationships with vendors, and design promotions to enhance guest experiences.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years in related work, and one year of supervisory experience. The position is based on site at The Ritz-Carlton properties in the United Arab Emirates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of related work experience required.
• 1 year of supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Answer guest questions regarding origin, vintage, and style of wines.
• Create, update, and maintain wine lists.
• Pair and suggest wines to complement menu items.
• Attend wine tastings and develop relationships with vendors.
• Design and implement wine promotions and incentive programs.
• Monitor and replenish inventory of wine cellar, equipment, and glassware.
• Conduct vintage and BIN number checks.
• Issue, open, and serve wine and champagne bottles.
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching employees.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and safety standards.
