Wet Utilities Inspector — Water & Sewer Networks

Job summary

AECOM Middle East Limited Dubai Branch is seeking a senior inspector to oversee wet utility construction, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs, QA/QC, health and safety, and client requirements.

You will supervise water, sewerage, stormwater, and irrigation networks, monitor trenching and pipe laying, witness tests, and maintain detailed inspection records. Dubai-specific authority familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of construction supervision and inspection experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in wet utility infrastructure projects.
• Experience in water, sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, and utility corridor projects.
• Experience working with private developers, municipalities, or infrastructure authorities is preferred.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality, DEWA, RTA, and other UAE utility authority requirements is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and supervise wet utility works including water transmission and distribution networks, potable water pipelines, irrigation networks, stormwater drainage systems, foul sewer networks, pumping stations, and associated utility structures.
• Ensure all construction activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and relevant authority requirements.
• Monitor excavation, trenching, pipe laying, bedding, backfilling, manhole construction, chambers, thrust blocks, and utility crossings.
• Conduct inspections of pipe materials, fittings, valves, manholes, precast structures, and associated civil works.
• Witness and verify pressure testing, leakage testing, hydrostatic testing, CCTV inspections, flushing, disinfection, and commissioning activities.
• Review and process Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by the contractor.
