Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Wet Utilities Design Engineer in Abu Dhabi to plan and detail water, sewer, and stormwater networks for infrastructure and land development. You will design, model, and coordinate systems, ensuring conformance with Abu Dhabi authority requirements and project standards.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, using CAD/BIM tools to create drawings, perform hydraulic analyses, and prepare reports and specifications for submission and QA/QC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering consultancy focused on wet utilities or infrastructure design.
• Proven UAE/GCC project experience; Abu Dhabi authorities experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD/BIM tools and hydraulic modelling.
• Ability to produce calculations, reports, drawings, and design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design potable water, irrigation, fire-fighting, foul sewer, and stormwater networks.
• Develop layouts for manholes, chambers, pumping stations, wet wells, and storage tanks.
• Prepare detailed drawings and schematics using CAD/BIM software.
• Develop hydraulic models to assess system performance and optimize designs.
• Coordinate with architects, planners, and other engineers to ensure multidisciplinary consistency.
• Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, and design documentation for approvals.
• Ensure designs meet local regulations and authority requirements.

What You 'll Be Doing

• Design potable water, irrigation, fire-fighting, foul sewer, and stormwater networks.
• Develop designs for manholes, chambers, appurtenances, pumping stations, wet wells, and storage or tank facilities.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD software.
• Develop hydraulic models to assess and optimize wet utility system performance.
• Perform engineering calculations covering pipe sizing, flow rates, pressure losses, and system capacities.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to establish project requirements.
• Review environmental and topographical information to support effective integration of utility systems.
• Prepare technical reports, design specifications, and bills of quantities.
• Verify that designs comply with applicable local regulations, codes, standards, and authority requirements.
• Coordinate wet utility designs with architects, urban planners, and other engineering disciplines.
• Identify and resolve design challenges and site-specific technical issues.
• Assist senior engineers with design scope definition and project submissions.
• Contribute to risk assessments and design decisions covering safety, operability, and maintainability.

Design Coordination and Construction Support

The Wet Utilities Design Engineer will coordinate utility requirements with the wider infrastructure design to identify interfaces and maintain consistency between disciplines. The position is primarily design and authority-approval focused rather than a site execution role. When technical support is required during construction, the engineer will review relevant shop drawings, respond to Requests for Information, and help resolve design-related issues while maintaining the approved engineering intent.

What Required Skills You 'll Bring
