Job summary

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil Inspector - Wet Utilities to join our team in Abu Dhabi. You will inspect wet utility works on site to ensure installation, testing, and commissioning are completed per approved drawings, specifications, standards, and HSE requirements.

In this role you will inspect installation, verify alignment and gradients, monitor materials and workmanship, witness testing, and coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to resolve site issues.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 7 years relevant experience in wet utilities inspection for Diploma holder & 5 years for the Batchelor’s degree holder.
• Strong knowledge of water, drainage, and sewerage systems and applicable standards (ASTM/BS/ISO or local).
• Ability to read and interpret utility drawings, specifications, and ITP requirements.
• Strong reporting and communication skills with good HSE awareness and site coordination capability.

Responsibilities

• Inspect installation of wet utility systems (Potable water, Storm water drainage, sewerage).
• Verify alignment, levels, and gradients against approved designs.
• Monitor materials, workmanship quality, trenching, bedding, backfilling, and reinstatement.
• Witness testing activities (pressure, leakage/flow) and support commissioning readiness.
• Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to resolve site issues and implement corrective actions.
• Liaise with engineers and management to close technical discrepancies and support interface coordination.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Inspect installation of wet utility systems (Potable water, Storm water drainage, sewerage), verifying alignment, levels, and gradients.
• Ensure works comply with approved designs, specifications, and relevant standards/codes.
• Monitor materials and workmanship quality and verify proper trenching, excavation, bedding, backfilling, and reinstatement.
• Witness and verify testing activities (e.g., pressure testing, leakage/flow testing) and support commissioning readiness.
• Coordinate with contractors/subcontractors and utility stakeholders to resolve site issues and implement corrective actions.
• Liaise with engineers and project management to close technical discrepancies and support design/interface coordination.
• Maintain inspection records, reports, and documentation, and ensure safe and environmentally compliant site practices (e.g., waste disposal, stormwater controls).
