Job summary

Parsons seeks an experienced Technical Engineer to join its infrastructure team in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with responsibility for wet utility engineering across design review, technical coordination, authority approvals, and construction supervision.

The role covers potable water, irrigation, sewerage, stormwater drainage, recycled water, and associated utility infrastructure, ensuring engineering solutions and site works meet Client requirements, local standards, project specs and codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of wet utilities experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a lead or team leadership role within the UAE.
• Strong project exposure involving potable water systems.
• Experience with sewerage and stormwater drainage networks.
• Experience with irrigation and firefighting water infrastructure.
• Knowledge of pumping stations and storage facilities.
• Proven experience leading authority submissions, technical meetings, NOCs, approvals, and comment resolution.
• In-depth understanding of local authority standards and utility provider requirements.
• Knowledge of international engineering codes.

Responsibilities

• Review detailed wet utility designs, engineering calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate the design of potable water, sewerage, stormwater drainage, irrigation, and associated utility networks.
• Conduct and review hydraulic analysis and network modelling using industry-standard software.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and other technical submissions.
• Verify designs comply with local authority requirements and international codes.
• Provide technical input throughout planning, design, construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Identify engineering issues during project delivery and coordinate practical resolutions.
• Monitor wet utility construction activities for conformance to drawings and specs.
• Review RFIs, NCRs, construction methodologies and adapt solutions.
• Coordinate with roads, utilities, structures, landscape and MEP disciplines.
